A poem by: Sharon Taylor |
Sunset in Smoky BlueOf sunlight Filtered through evening's Gray and dusty sun streaked clouds. You are breathtaking, beautiful, bountiful People, strangers to me Pass by, I catch snatches Of their multi-faceted lives From conversations somewhat public Homes, finances, children, travel, and lovers. Yet, the smoke, blue-gray Streams of light Remain untouched. Haven risen above passages Of time talked about By those who visit here. Sensing I have been part of You for thousands of years I take my thoughts and Scatter them freely. Towards your streams and streaks of light. I pause, look up and listen As passersby laugh and cry Against the song, The singing of a solitary bird. And ! watch, ! watch and enjoy your Smoky-blue Streams and streaks of light Tumbling from a comfortable And Timeless sky. |
